THE DWARVEN SWORD OF DRUMREGAN
The legend of the Nidalves, a short and stout race living deep under the mountains known as the Rigors in a city called Nidalvar, was long held in every corner of the Far North. With skin as black as soot, hair the color of smoke and eyes that glowed like burning coals, the Nidalves were said to be unparalleled smiths. They were said to have been led by a Mastersmith named Drumregan, who wielded the Svartalsveith, a sword that was more a work of art than a weapon. Its smooth, perfect edges were inscribed with brightly glowing runes bearing the sigils of Drumregan himself. After the defeat of Yligos, Lord Regent of the Gods of Heaven, by Ylspeth of Ulheim and her lover, Bren the Brave, the ruins of an ancient civilization were discovered in the tunnels and mines beneath the shattered cliffs of the Desecrated Peaks. Within this archaic city, a blade was unearthed, its runes glimmering in the darkness. Before any other treasures could be recovered from the ruins, the city was buried under the weight of thousands of pounds of stone, ice and snow, sealing the secrets of Nidalvar for all time.
The blade of the ancient Mastersmith Drumregan, the Svartalsveith is renowned for its clean-cut, geometric lines - a secretive metalworking skill lost when the city of Nidalvar was crushed beneath the Desecrated Peaks.
