The Gods of Hell, also known as the Sgoetia, were creatures born of the union between the Setting Sun and the Blood Moon. Clad in red and black and stinking of sulphur, these infernal beasts walked amongst the Fathers of Men ages ago and taught them the secrets of wielding the dark elements, of summoning demogorgons, of fashioning weapons of war and desolation, and the movements of spirits and phantasms. In time, conflicts arose between the Gods of Heaven and the Gods of Hell, which spiraled into a devastating war that ravaged the earth. Caught in the middle of this war were the Fathers of Men, some siding with the hellish Gods and some with the Gods of Heaven. The Alchemist, a sorcerer living in the ancient city of Valvalis, discovered the ability to awaken the true power of Man and in turn created weapons capable of defeating the Gods. With this power, he formed an army of Heroes who wielded the devastating Godbreakers and sealed the Gods of Hell in brimstone prisons deep within fissures of the earth.
