The Duskenblade

THE CURSED SWORD OF MARIBARBOLA

The Duskenblade was a sword said to be cursed by the lingering spirit of Maribarbola, the Enslaver-Queen of Narobensis. In her unquenchable thirst for power, she was said to have invoked the intervention of Gologmagog, the Grand Petrarch of the Gods of Hell. She allied herself with Belzub, the Low King of the Duumvirate, and sought to help him conquer his rival, High King Doberan. She enslaved Doberan and his subjects, forcing them to construct her menacing fortress - the House of Chains. She was ultimately defeated by the Hero, Bocan the Bondsman, who led a revolt against her rule and cast off the shackles of Doberan and his fellow slaves. Bocan bound her to her throne in the House of Chains and sealed the doors of the fortress using his mighty Godbreaker. She was still trapped inside when Bocan defeated Gologmagog, the massive God of Hell crushing the House of Chains beneath him when he fell.

The blackened steel of the Duskenblade exudes a shadowy vapour, said to be the cursed spirit of Maribarbola. The runes engraved into its body were the invocations she supposedly spoke to gain the support of Gologmagog.
