the Ancient Kings
The Ancient Kings were twelve wise rulers of Man throughout ancient history who set down the first record of laws. Only four of their names have survived to the modern age, the remaining eight lost to time and known only as the Pewter King, the Cerulean King, the Celadon King, the Fuchsia King, the Cinnabar King, the Indigo King, the Ivory King and the Obsidian King.

CORBO THE BELLIGERENT, the Viridian King, set down the Laws of War. Known as the “Firelight General” for his daring night raids, he ascended to the throne of the Viridian Empire after the Emperor Verodotus met his demise by way of a poisoner’s needle. His rules for the “proper” way to conduct warfare have held sway for thousands of years. Before his death, he set in place a rigid order of succession to prevent the chaos that erupted when the last Emperor died. All modern kingships follow Corbo’s Order to this day.
DHALMIN THE DELINEATOR, the Lavender King, set down the Laws of Peace. His prophetic dreams of an idyllic paradise influenced his policy making as the last of the Spirit-Kings of Amon Quat. Murder, crime and poverty were virtually unheard of during his reign. Where these acts did occur, Dhalmin’s justice was swift and efficient. His system of courts, judges and juries carries on to this day.
SINGLE-EYED SUVIK, the Vermilion King, set down the Laws of Possession. Lord Ravager of the Glodovin, he and his men sailed longships up and down the coasts, pillaging and burning. After many years, age took its toll and the storied pirate king set down roots on land where he enacted laws to ensure that no other corsair could wreak havoc the way that he did. Under his law, the rights and powers of property holders were strengthened tenfold, and his legacy as one of the great Ancient Kings was firmly established.
DEVIS THE DEVOUT, the Saffron King, set down the Laws of Faith. In his day, a myriad of religions flourished throughout the land, some even still worshiping the wrathful Gods of Heaven and Hell. Under his hand, he united the various creeds together, branding heretics where he must, and ushering in a codified set of laws to govern religious sects that would set the standard for thousands of years. He became the first in a long line of Lord Pontifexes, a line which remains unbroken to this day.
