A BLAZING BLUE TRAIL THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT SKIES

Not for a thousand years has there been seen a shooting star. The last known instance was during the tumultuous time known as the First Great Schism. A blazing trail was seen across the night sky above the Ghestspire when Loengard, the Twelfth Lord Lyonhart, cut down Vermandre, the last and final Rook of the Crowlands. Men said it was one of the Gods of Heaven, who had somehow broken free of its celestial prison and was hastening down to earth, but the star never struck. Ages before that, a shooting star was claimed to have been seen between the constellations of Aquamentus and Cassiovega the very night before the Thunderclap at Owlston, the event which heralded the calamitous Cataclysms. As would be the case centuries later, neither had that star reached earth and no God emerged. Despite the ominous portent, and remarkable rarity of just such an event, legends and tales passed down through the ages say that wherever a shooting star crashed to earth, great and untold treasures could be found.
