THE HAUNTED SWORD OF GHODOTHIL

During the final years of Dhalmin the Delineator, one of the Ancient Kings, a mysterious man arrived at his court at Amon Quat carrying a massive sword. The blade shimmered with an eerie light and all those in attendance claimed to hear the mournful wails of the dead echoing through the court. The man spoke a dialect not heard since the days of the Fathers of Men, declaring himself to be Ghodothil the Reaper and his sword Ghosteater. He challenged Dhalmin to combat, but the elderly king refused. A member of Dhalmin’s Stalwart Guard, Gedeon, instead answered the challenger’s call. The two battled for six days and seven nights before Gedeon landed the killing blow, Ghodothil collapsing into dust as he let go of the dark sword. Gedeon hefted the sword over his head and at that very instant, Dhalmin breathed his last. Gedeon left Amon Quat and was never seen again. In the thousands of years since, many caravan drivers have claimed to see a shadowy form crossing the Harshlands dragging a massive sword, with the echoing cries of the departed sounding in its wake.

Those traveling the Harshlands at night have claimed to hear cries and voices on the wind, along with a shadowy figure making its way through the rugged wilds. The sword dragged behind this figure seems to match the ancient accounts of Ghosteater.
