LEGENDARY BRONZE TRAVELER

In the walled city of Balabrelock, there exists a curious temple known as the Shrine of the Bronze Traveler. Inside, a large bronze suit of armor stands, its surface covered in patina. According to legend, the strangely ornamented armor belonged to a mysterious entrant into the tournament held for the Iron Jubilee of Dowald, the 10th Bahn of Balabrelock. Announcing itself in a tinny, metallic voice as Dogu, the armored being proceeded to defeat each of its opponents in the Hastilude. Wielding a massive six-cubit-long blade that shone like the moon in the night sky, Dogu bested Vallad, the Knight Marischal, in the first round. In the second round, it narrowly defeated the Senatrix of Oakendeer, Tilaney, astride her stalwart cornibus. Dogu brought down the mighty Matochkin, Fifth Sword of the Boreal Guard, in its third bout. In the final round of the contest, Dogu battled the Barbarous Blade of Bandorum himself, winner of the last five Hastiludes. As Dowald presided over the match from his pavilion, the two competitors battled, until Dogu stood victorious. Forgoing the customary prize for winning, the enigmatic knight simply bowed and left the tourney grounds. A brilliant flash of light accompanied its exit from the walled city, and in the fields beyond Balabrelock the empty suit of armor stood motionless. So awed by his prowess and perplexing departure, Bahn Dowald ordered the construction of the Shrine of the Bronze Traveler to house Dogu’s suit of armor for what he believed to be its eventual return. In the centuries since, the bronze has turned green with patina, waiting for its owner to claim it once more.
