Daybringer

THE LEGENDARY SWORD OF DAMOCLEN

Daybringer was the legendary sword of the ancient heliomancer battlemage Damoclen. Raised by sunmages on the island monastery of Tjadikoin, Damoclen was trained from a young age in the art of combat by the traveling swordhand Prydain. When he reached the age of eighteen, the heliomancers of Tjadikoin granted him the sword Daybringer, imbued with the power of the sun. It was so powerful that it had the ability to turn night into day, lighting all under the gaze of the Sempiternal Sun. When Prydain was called back to his ancestral home of Surogorod to help fight back against the forces of the Widow-King and his treacherous advisor Nishiji during the Third Great Schism, Damoclen joined him. Damoclen used Daybringer in the climactic Battle of the Dimwood, shining the light of the Sempiternal Sun on the villainous Nishiji and allowing the men of Surogorod and its allies to win the day. Damoclen never returned to his home at Tjadikoin and the whereabouts of his great sword have been lost to time.

The visage of the Sempiternal Sun, the object of worship by those who follow the First Primordial Discipline of Magick, heliomancy, is carved onto the hilt of Daybringer. Its blade was said to glisten with sunlight even in the darkest of night.
