Croydon the Coldheart was one of the fabled Heroes who defeated the Gods of Heaven and Hell. A northron fisherman known to frequent the shores of Bern Lake, he left the north to answer the Alchemist’s call. He earned his monicker, the Coldheart, for the historic duel he fought against Bren the Brave for the affection of Queen Ylspeth of Ulheim. When she chose Bren, Croydon dejectedly left Valvalis with his Godbreaker, a blade the size of a thousand men, and gathered a force of just under a thousand men on the frosty banks of Bern Lake. With his newly christened Northron Vanguard, he fought the fiendish Fenryx. The “Hero of the Frozen Lake” felled the God of Hell, but lost his arm, and his life, in the battle. The great sword sunk to the bottom of Bern Lake, where many still claim to see the twinkling of its mysterious runes shining from the frozen depths. The Northron Vanguard safeguards the village of Bern Lake to this very day.
