THE BLUSTERY SWORD OF ITSUKI

Cloudsplitter was the name of the katana wielded by Itsuki, one of the original 7 founders of the Ryujin Elites, master swordsmen of the ruined city of Nal. The long, curved blade was enchanted by an aeromancer by the name of Setonia, who had been rescued by Itsuki from the fearsome Asphodel Sharum sky pirates. The legends claim that Itsuki tracked them to their secret lair hidden deep within the Cloudsea, flying his small aero skiff through dangerous winds and calamitous storms. When he came upon their hidden fleet, he singlehandedly defeated the pirates and rescued Setonia, who ensorcelled his sword in gratitude. With his blade now brimming with the power of wind, Itsuki battered the aeroships of the Asphodel Sharum, scattering what remained of their bandit armada. The pirates would take centuries to recover from their defeat, and still whisper tales about the One Who Split the Clouds.

Cloudsplitter has been handed down through the ages among the Ryujin Elites, with the current owner of the katana being Carthago, the champion of Calideon. Upon the death of Linwei, the former holder of the sword, Carthago was elected to the Elites and given the honor of wielding Cloudsplitter based on his exploits protecting Calideon from the bostrop, a savage sea serpent that threatened the merchants of the coastal city.
