Bay of the Baron
BARON’S bAy
LARGE BAY THAT ENDS IN FALLS THAT CASCADE INTO THE CLOUDSEA
Baron’s Bay is a large, open bay on the southwestern edge of the world with a series of waterfalls that cascade down into the depths of the Cloudsea. Several settlements ring its shores, including the bustling metropolis of Baron’s Cove, the beach resort of Bayside, the shrines of Watercure, the shipyards of Mayport, the cliffs of Endicott, the villas and palaces of Lydane, and the sprawling manufactories of Loci. Baron’s Rock juts out on its southwestern rim, and many small islands dot its waters, including the “Baron’s Teeth” - Sidingstone, Lindistrut, Mickel’s Tooth, and the Pioneer Gunstation; the sleepy village on Stoney Lonesome; the imposing Anvil; and tiny Pug Island off the coast of Lydane. Smaller arms of water extend out of the Bay including Baron’s Inlet to the north, calm Caroway Bay to the east, and stormy Starsmore Bight to the south. Looming high over Baron’s Rock lies the great Godbreaker of Bren the Brave, visible from as far away as the tall spires of the Palladium in Baron’s Cove. Six raging waterfalls - the Sault Sainte May, the Westerfalls, Godwyn’s Drop, Keilan Falls, Pitt’s Plunge, and the Esterfalls - flow from the periphery of the Bay down into the misty fathoms of the Cloudsea. Though its cerulean waters teem with life, Baron’s Bay has seen its fair share of shipwrecks, with many unlucky captains making its depths their watery graves.
